Another daily Happy Hour surprise from 3-6 daily can be found at the newest Lynora’s, (Glades and 95th Ave. S) in west, or “Uptown,” Boca. The fabulous cocktails and numerous wine selections are 50% off then, and appetizers, salads, pizzas and entrees are $1-$7 less than during evening dinner
The Happy Hour menu is grouped into price categories — $9.95, $11.95, $13.95, $15.95 and $17.95. At $9.95 find Caesar Salad with house-made dressing, and sea salt-rosemary Focaccia with house-made ricotta sea (add prosciutto for $5, so good!) At $11.95, there’s Risotto Funghi with porcini and shitake mushrooms, a Rustica spinach salad with gorgonzola, walnuts and blood orange glaze, and a basic cheese pie. At $13.95, try eggplant parm, drizzled with pesto; Italian Chop salad; or house-made meatballs with ricotta and marinara. Another two bucks, at $15.95, gets you Calamari Fritti; a White Pepperoni pie with fontina and mozz; or a Piccante pie with pepperoni, salami, hot cherry peppers and mozz.
Most choices lie within the $17.95 group, including Mista Di Mare, a cold mix of octopus, shrimp and calamari, potatoes and celery with tomato and arugula; P.E.I. Mussels in garlic oil or marinara; Linguine Carbonara with egg, prosciutto and parmigiana Reggiano; and my favorite dish, NOT on the regular menu and only available during Happy Hour — excellent (and very big) Cannelloni Al Forno: pork, beef, spinach-filled crepes baked with rich béchamel sauce, Bolognese and mozzarella. Oh my!
