We can’t conceal our deep admiration for Aioli, which probably gets the award for using more butter every day than any other bakery on this list. You’ve probably heard the cliché “It’s always better with butter” – and Aioli takes that to the bank. In addition to baking a huge assortment of rustic and refined breads (seeded sourdough, walnut raisin), layer cakes (coconut, carrot) and fantastic biscuits (cheddar-chive on Saturdays only), Aioli knocks it out of the park when it comes to items prepared with puff pastry. That’s partly because of all that butter but it’s also the creativity and skill of the bakers. French techniques are used to create American-sized, creatively flavored pastries that never disappoint.

What Aioli calls a Brown Sugar Brioche is not to be missed. It’s big, dough precisely rolled into a perfect spiraled bun, dusted in sugar that’s light as air and rich in flavor. The Chocolate Brioche, Morning Bun, Orange Cardamom Brioche, plain, chocolate, almond croissants, and many more are all worth trying. The café has indoor and outdoor seating, a variety of hot beverages, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, a daily takeout dinner and more. So worth the ride!
