Meat Market in the Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel doesn’t look or feel like a steakhouse. The menu doesn’t read like a typical steakhouse menu either. Yet, key words pop out, reassuring you that you’re in the right place and can still have your wedge salad, creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes.

This restaurant group (Palm Beach, Tampa, San Juan too) understands what today’s diners crave. They’ve woven big, bold contemporary flavors into a roster of curated fine meats in a fresh, exciting way, enticing your repeated returns. Raw bar selections and appetizers demand attention. Start off with Truffle Roasted Oysters Rockefeller with spinach, bacon and Béarnaise or sample a selection on the half shell. White Truffle Kobe Beef Tartare; Southern Style Crab Cake with corn succotash & pickled green tomato; and Roasted Escargot in spicy chorizo butter with grilled crostini span th4e global palate. Wagyu Beef Dumplings with brown miso aioli are a house specialty, as are BBQ Beef Ribs with red currant BBQ sauce. Roasted Bone Marrow & Truffle Gnocchi are on my next dance card. One of four over-the-top sushi include “A-5 Wagyu King Roll” (the most marbled, unctuous grade of beef), tenderloin seared and rolled with miso-roasted crab, asparagus, garlic cream cheese, black truffle caviar and sweet truffle sauce. And the gorgeous Wood-Grilled Artichoke with roasted garlic butter dipping sauce will keep you busy through at least one of their delicious cocktails.
