Let’s say you just want good coffee and a good pastry. Or, even better, a great pastry. Welcome to our favorite bakery café at 7434 South Dixie Highway, south of Forest Hill Blvd. in the south end of West Palm Beach: Aioli. Aioli has been a take-out bakery with indoor/outdoor seating since 2014. Chef/owner Michael Hackman opened a second location in downtown West Palm.
Every pastry produced here has a graduate degree from the University of Butter. The plain, chocolate and Carrot Cake Croissants, Chocolate Brioche, and many types of French breakfast pastries are amazing. The Banana Chocolate Chip loaf, Olive Oil Cornmeal Cake, Orange Pound Cake and Coconut Layer Cake are exemplary. infinite varieties of hearth-baked bread (naturally leavened Sourdough, Walnut Bread, Milk Bread and more) had us at hello. Come here for coffee (brewed and latte-style) and choose from the day’s selections.
While we were sipping coffee and munching a pistachio croissant and Iced Lemon Pound Cake, we realized that hot breakfast sandwiches can be ordered at the counter. Buttermilk biscuits or Ciabatta cradle various combos of egg, cheese, bacon, ham, tomato. Quiche of the day is served with fruit. House Granola is served with yogurt and fruit. After breakfast, order from the gourmet sandwich and salad menu for a take-home lunch. Our mouths literally dropped that afternoon when we opened our take-home lunches to find that that each order contains two sandwiches!
