In typical steak-and-seafood house style, sides at Eddie V’s Prime Seafood are a la carte. They are terrific, and that’s the fun of it. Sides are no less lavish than everything else on the menu. You can enhance the giant-sized double-baked potato with an avalanche of Petrossian Royal Baika caviar and crème fraiche (a meal unto itself.) Mashed potato fan, are you? Nothing’s plain at Eddie V’s – the fluffy mashed potatoes are whipped with aged white cheddar, topped with a boatload of butter-poached Maine lobster claw meat and set into a moat of lobster butter heaven. Mac ‘n’ Cheese fan? Try this creamy variety with French black truffle, drizzle of white truffle oil, and a cloak of rich Grana Padano (Parmesan’s cousin) cheese sauce. Au Gratin Cheddar Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, baby French green beans with Marcona Almonds & Brown Butter, Crab Fried Rice with Mushrooms and Scallions… and more…are all large, for the table, so some negotiating may be needed before ordering.

Desserts are also over the top: Juicy seasonal berries, lusciously draped in Grand Marnier custard; warm Belgian Chocolate Cake with berries and vanilla bean ice cream; and the Bananas Foster Butter Cake, flambéed tableside to caramelize the bananas, served with butter pecan ice cream. Somehow you find room.
