At the charming French bistro, Le Pistache in West Palm, entrees include the best Beef Bourguignon ever! Really. It’s one of our default choices when dining à la Française. This traditional beef and Burgundy wine stew braises short rib with pearl onions, roasted button mushrooms and lardons (bacon chunks) and is served with potato puree and glazed carrots. Duck Lyonnaise presents as crispy duck confit with chicken liver, lardons and a poached egg, served with a Frisée salad dressed in sherry vinaigrette.
Herb Roasted Branzino is accompanied by Farro (Mediterranean hulled wheat) salad in a spicy Moroccan Harissa Vinaigrette. Perfectly char-grilled Steak Frites is a center Strip served with herb butter and authentic, hand-cut, double-fried fries. From the Alsace region, the chef brings us comfort food in the form of Pork Schnitzel a la Holstein, a 10-oz. bone-in chop topped with a fried egg, capers and anchovy, and served with house-made sauerkraut and apple compote.
No French dinner is complete without dessert, and when we saw the first item on the dessert menu — Pistache Profiteroles, three vanilla ice cream-filled puff pastries topped with a generous pour of warm dark chocolate sauce and garnish of toasted almonds – it had us at hello. There’s more, but, for us, it was love at first sight!
