At Mario’s Osteria in Boca, all 10 salads are excellent. Favorites include the savory Mario’s Gorgonzola House Salad, the chock-full of everything Italian Salad with chick peas, olives, hard-boiled egg (and perhaps an add-on of fried eggplant?) in oregano vinaigrette; and Roasted Beets and Goat Cheese with pistachios, currants, arugula and Taggiasca olives.
A quarter of the menu is pizza, about a dozen signature pies plus a create-your-own, from 10 cheeses, a dozen proteins, three sauces, and 16 veggies. An gluten-free patrons can enjoy pizza and pasta without fear.
Other favorites include Roasted Lemon Chicken “Frascati Style” (lemon, white wine, rosemary, artichokes); and the Signature dish, Chicken Scarpiello, (traditionally, Scarpariello), on the bone or boneless breast in white wine sauce with three kinds of peppers, two kinds of olives and artichokes over rigatoni (sausage, traditionally part of this dish, is an add-on option). Angus Ribeye Arrabiata or Pork Chop, are both served “Guido Style” — “Murphy Style,” we called it in Jersey – with pan-seared hot and sweet peppers and crispy “Vesuvio” (white wine, lemon, garlic) pan-roasted potatoes.
